The Capability & Transformation Group seeks an experienced professional to join our team as a Business Analyst. Reporting to the Digital Delivery Lead and working closely with your colleagues, and stakeholders you will identify, define, and analyse problems, and to propose solutions that align with Council’s digital strategy.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to play a key role in supporting informed decision-making and successful change initiatives across the organisation. The role focuses on conducting strategic analysis to uncover root causes, assess business needs, and deliver clear, actionable insights that drive business improvements and digital transformation outcomes.
You will be responsible for selecting and applying the most appropriate problem-solving and analysis techniques for each business challenge or opportunity. This requires a strong understanding of business processes, analytical methodologies, and the ability to engage effectively with internal customers and project teams. The role balances technical capability with collaboration and communication, supporting the effective delivery of digital projects and ensuring analysis outcomes are aligned with organisational goals.

We are seeking a Business Analyst who is strongly customer-focused, with a clear understanding of how their work contributes to delivering meaningful outcomes for both internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate builds trusted relationships through open, honest communication and consistently act with integrity, balancing stakeholder needs with organisational priorities. They are collaborative and respectful and actively listen to diverse perspectives while maintaining a clear focus on achieving the right outcomes. They are confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring requirements are well understood and documented, expectations are managed, and solutions are aligned to business and customer needs.
The successful candidate is naturally curious and confident to ask “why,” exploring problems in depth and constructively challenging assumptions where needed. They show sound judgement in when to step forward, taking initiative to address risks or gaps, while remaining pragmatic and outcome focused. With a logical and analytical mindset, they work in a structured and organised way, managing time effectively and maintaining clarity across processes and information. Calm and professional under pressure, they are able to push back on impractical solutions and provide well-reasoned, evidence-based alternatives that support better customer and business outcomes.
