Help provide confidence in the building products and systems used across Aotearoa New Zealand
BRANZ is looking for a Building Technologist to join our Assurance Services team on a contract basis.
This is a great opportunity for someone early in their building science, architecture or construction career who enjoys working with technical information, coordinating projects and understanding how buildings and products meet the requirements of the New Zealand Building Code.
The role
Our Assurance Services team assesses building products and systems against the New Zealand Building Code. This work supports the delivery of BRANZ Appraisals and CodeMark certificates, helping give the industry confidence that products and systems meet relevant requirements.
As a Building Technologist, you’ll support the reissue and revalidation of existing Appraisals. You’ll review technical information, coordinate input from technical experts and help keep projects progressing efficiently and to a high standard.
You’ll also build good working relationships with clients, project managers and technical specialists, and may assist with site inspections and manufacturing quality audits where required.

You may be a recent graduate with some relevant industry experience, or already working in a technical role within the building and construction sector.
Ideally, you’ll have:
You’ll be proactive, organised and comfortable managing several pieces of work at once. Strong attention to detail is important, along with a willingness to ask questions, learn and work through problems with others.
