Port Nelson Ltd (PNL) is the maritime gateway for the Nelson Marlborough region – a vital hub for economic activity and a key stakeholder in the region’s continued growth and prosperity. QuayConnect is Port Nelson’s 4PL supply chain solutions business focusing on the wine industry, particularly moving Marlborough wine for export through Nelson. This innovative supply chain and distribution model has redefined connectivity between producers, suppliers, and customers. 

With the Marlborough Inland Port development due for completion at the end of the year, QuayConnect is undergoing continued growth and has an amazing opportunity for a Branch Manager to join their Marlborough team.

About the role

Reporting to the General Manager QuayConnect, this permanent full-time position will have a mix of leadership and operational responsibility for the QuayConnect container yard and warehousing operations at our Marlborough Inland Port. You will provide strong leadership, and drive operational efficiencies while overseeing all operating costs to enhance business performance. Strong business partner relationship skills are a key requirement for this role as is the ability to identify and deliver new business and growth opportunities for QuayConnect. 

About you

You will have extensive background and knowledge across Port and/or warehousing and container operations management, preferably in a 3PL warehousing and distribution environment, with a proven track record of effective leadership. Effective communication will come naturally to you, as will a passion for delivering exceptional service. You will have strong business acumen, be self-motivated, innovative and possess enthusiasm and drive to thrive in a fast-paced and exciting newly created role.
