Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) is a person-centred, charitable organisation with over 800 employees and 500 volunteers, providing aged residential and community care and a range of social services across Otago. About you

We are seeking an experienced and community-minded director who will enhance our already strong and high-profile governance team and who is willing to partner with us on our vision, mission, and transformation journey.

Ideally, you will be experienced in one or more of these key areas:

  • Business, finance, risk management, and accounting 
  • Management and delivery of health services  
  • Strategic planning
  • Relationship building with key stakeholders
  • Commercial and organisational management 
  • Bi-cultural development and partnership

PSO is committed to recognising and honouring our obligations and responsibilities under Te Tiriti o Waitangi by building cultural competency across our Board, Senior Leadership Team, and Managers, and all of PSO services. 


About this position

Our Board members are volunteers appointed for their diverse skills, knowledge, and experience. You will help establish and plan the future direction of PSO, guided by its Vision, Mission, and Values. 

You will have a key role in monitoring the achievement of our strategic goals and objectives, and our financial viability. Board members also monitor PSO’s statutory responsibilities and have input into risk management.

The Board meeting approximately 11 times a year for 2 to 4 hours per meeting, in Dunedin. PSO has robust director and officer insurance policies in place for its Board.
