We’re on the lookout for a skilled and strategic Bid Manager to lead the development of high-quality, compelling proposals that help us win the work that shapes our future.

About the Role

As Bid Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our growth strategy—leading the end-to-end bid process for high-value and complex tenders. You’ll collaborate with senior leaders, estimators, and delivery teams to craft submissions that are not only compliant and commercially sound, but also persuasive and aligned with McKay’s strategic goals.

You’ll also support the day-to-day management of tenders and proposals, working closely with our Business Development Coordinator and wider business units.

Key Responsibilities: -

  • Lead and manage the full bid lifecycle, from qualification to submission.
  • Drive the development of tailored, high-impact proposals and capability statements.
  • Oversee McKay’s bid pipeline and support strategic go/no-go decisions.
  • Facilitate bid meetings and coordinate input from subject matter experts.
  • Craft compelling non-price attributes that showcase McKay’s strengths.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Continuously improve bid processes, templates, and knowledge libraries.
  • Track bid outcomes and share insights to improve future success.

What you’ll bring: -

  • Proven experience in bid management or tender writing, ideally in the electrical, engineering consulting, or professional services sectors.
  • Strong understanding of bid strategy, positioning, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to new tools and systems.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset with strong project management skills.
