Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic Automotive Accessory Technician - Electrical with at least 3 years' experience to join our busy installation team.
This role primarily involves the fitment and installation of vehicle accessories, with electrical work limited to accessory-related systems (low-voltage 12V/24V automotive systems). You will work independently to deliver high-quality, safety-compliant installations, ensuring that vehicles meet customer requirements and maintain manufacturer warranties.
Key Responsibilities
Install and wire a wide range of vehicle accessories, including:
- Security systems
- Emergency beacons
- Central-locking systems
- Canopies and hard lids
- Towbars roof racks, nudge bars, and bull bars
Connect power-operated accessories to the vehicle power supply
Integrate accessories with existing vehicle wiring and CAN bus systems without affecting OEM functionality
Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and warranty requirements
Maintain accurate documentation and job sheets
Keep the work area safe, clean and organised
Communicate with customer services regarding progress or delays
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in automotive accessory fitting, with vehicle accessory electrical work
- Knowledge of 12V and 24V automotive electrical systems
- Experience working on new utility vehicles and vans
- Problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Professional, courteous, and customer-focused attitude
Employment Details
- Full-time, permanent role
- Standard hours: 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
- Overtime available by choice
- Pay rate: $30.00 an hour to a maximum of $32.00 an hour, based on experience
