 About the role

Due to ongoing growth, Northland Toyota is seeking Two experienced Automotive Technician(s) to join our service team in Whangārei. You will service, diagnose and repair vehicles to Toyota standards, working with New Zealand’s biggest-selling vehicle brand in a modern, purpose-built workshop.

Employment type and hours

Permanent with a minimum of 40 hours per week

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, with rostered Saturdays

Location

Based in Whangārei, Northland. Some local travel may be required within the Northland Region

Pay

NZD $30.00 to $38.00 per hour

What you’ll be doing

  • Servicing, maintenance and inspection of vehicles to manufacturer standards.
  • Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults using current diagnostic tools and software.
  • Carrying out repairs across engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, air-conditioning and cooling systems.
  • Reprogramming and updating vehicle control modules (for example PCM, TCM, ABS, BCM).
  • Completing job cards and check sheets accurately, and recommending further repairs where needed.
  • Following workshop health and safety procedures.
  • Delivering quality workmanship and clear communication to support our customers.

What you’ll bring

  • A recognised automotive qualification: a New Zealand Level 4 automotive trade certificate, or an equivalent overseas trade certificate, diploma or degree in the relevant field.
  • Sound mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • A current driver's licence (a New Zealand licence, or an overseas licence that can be converted to a New Zealand licence).
  • A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Training and development

You will receive comprehensive Toyota technical training and mentoring to develop into a Toyota specialist, whether you are a recently qualified technician or an experienced technician.
