About our role

We are looking for an Automotive Technician who will work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at our Mercedes-Benz workshop in Mount Maunganui. As an automotive technician, you are, above all, responsible for performing all kinds of service operations (inspections), defined assembly operations, and maintenance repairs to customer and company vehicles with the highest level of quality and efficiency.


Your responsibilities will include:

  •  As a Technician, you are, above all, responsible for performing all kinds of service operations (inspections), defined assembly operations, and maintenance repairs to customer and company vehicles with the highest level of quality and efficiency.  
  • Ensure that all servicing and repairs follow specifications and standards supplied by Ingham and its business partners.
  • Support and contribute to the effective operation of the Parts, Service, (Panel & Paint – if applicable) Departments
  • Consistently contribute to attaining all Dealership Parts & Service Targets
  • Utilise skills and knowledge to diagnose problems with a range of vehicles
  • Work autonomously with limited management input
  • Contribute to providing outstanding customer satisfaction by repairing and servicing all allocated vehicles to meet Ingham's and its business partners' standards.


Skills & Experience

  • A current clean full NZ Driver's Licence
  • Level 3 New Zealand National Certificate in Automotive Engineering (or international equivalent) 
  • 3+ years’ experience as a qualified automotive mechanic/technician.
  • Proven diagnostic experience
  • WOF Certification (preferred but not essential) 
  • Franchise experience is advantageous.
  • Currently living in New Zealand and/or hold a valid work visa (if applicable)
  • Friendly communicator with good English language skills and a high level of personal integrity.
