About our role

This role will see you work Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5.00 pm at our Mercedes-Benz workshop in Napier. As an Automotive Technician, you are, above all, responsible for performing all kinds of service operations (inspections), defined assembly operations, and maintenance repairs to customer and company vehicles with the highest level of quality and efficiency.


Your responsibilities will include

  • Ensure that all servicing and repairs follow specifications and standards
  • Support and contribute to the effective operations of the workshop
  • Utilise skills and knowledge to diagnose problems with a range of vehicles
  • Engines rebuild and overhauling
  • Gearboxes rebuild and overhauling
  • Electrical and ECU fault finding and repairs
  • Perform fault diagnostic testing and carry out necessary repairs.
  • Assist with general servicing and WOF checks when required. 
  • Perform trade-in vehicle preparation
  • High-performance Braking system upgrades and maintenance (Inc. Carbon Ceramic)
  • Attention to detail


Skills & Experience requirements

  • A current clean full Driver's Licence
  • Minimum level 4 NZQA New Zealand National Certificate in Automotive Electrical and Mechanical Engineering certified or relevant International Automotive Trade Qualifications
  • 3+ years experience in repairing, servicing, and maintenance of motor vehicles
  • Experience servicing and repairing Mercedes-Benz motor vehicles is desirable but not essential
  • WOF certification is desirable but not essential
  • Friendly communicator with good oral and written English language skills and a high level of personal integrity

  • Wage rates are between $30-$38 per hour depending on skills and experience.
  • The overtime rate will be paid at time and a half.
