About our role

We are looking for an Automotive Mechanics who will work Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with rostered Saturdays 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at our Hyundai and Isuzu workshop in Te Rapa, Hamilton. As an automotive technician, you are, above all, responsible for performing all kinds of service operations (inspections), defined assembly operations, and maintenance repairs to customer and company vehicles with the highest level of quality and efficiency.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that all servicing and repairs follow specifications and standards.
  • Support and contribute to the effective operations of the workshop.
  • Utilise skills and knowledge to diagnose problems with a range of vehicles.
  • Engines rebuild and overhauling.
  • Gearboxes rebuild and overhauling.
  • Electrical and ECU fault finding and repairs.
  • Wiring rebuilds and fault finding.
  • Wet Dual Clutch basket and AWD Clutch basket rebuild and upgrades.
  • High-performance Braking system upgrades and maintenance (Inc. Carbon Ceramic)
  • Assist with Apprentice training and teaching of skills.
  • Customer/Client relations building 
  • Attention to detail.


Skills & Experience

  • A current clean full Driver's Licence.
  • New Zealand National Certificate in Automotive Electrical and Mechanical Engineering certified or relevant International Automotive Motor Mechanic Qualifications
  • Franchise experience working with Hyundai and Isuzu motor vehicles is advantageous.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a qualified automotive mechanic/technician.
  • Experience in fault/diagnostic findings.
  • WOF Certification will be to your advantage however, not necessary. 
  • Friendly communicator with good English language skills and a high level of personal integrity.


Benefits

  • Wage rates are between $31.61 - $35.00 per hour depending on skills and experience.
  • Overtime rate will be paid at time and a half if overtime is worked.
  • This is a permanent, full-time role offering a 40-hour minimum work week.
