King Toyota is looking for an Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join our Lower Hutt team on a full time basis.

The Role:

  • Carry out the role of Technical Advisor, assisting Service Advisors to accurately identify and confirm customer concerns
  • Diagnose complete mechanical and electrical faults using Toyota diagnostic equipment and technical information
  • Communicate directly with customers to confirm symptoms, explain diagnostic findings, and discuss recommended repairs
  • Liaise with Toyota New Zealand on technical enquiries, warranty repairs and other technical cases
  • Servicing and maintenance of vehicle systems
  • Repairs and mechanical work
  • Test driving vehicles to determine defects
  • Liaising with service advisors

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

  • Proven experience in automotive diagnostic work and fault finding
  • Experience communicating directly with customers, including confirming customer concerns and discussing repairs
  • Accuracy and quality focused
  • Strong work ethic and enjoy a challenge
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • New Zealand Drivers Licence
  • We are looking for someone with their WOF certification or someone willing to become certified.

Must be a fully qualified Automotive Technician minimum NZQA assessed level four qualification and one year experience as a Automotive Technician.  This role is open to NZ applicants only.
