The role

Reporting to the Manager – Used Vehicles this is a great opportunity to hone your management skills in an iconic company that is committed to helping you grow and succeed! 

As Associate Manager Used Vehicles: Sales and Sourcing your primary responsibility is to supply our Toyota Stores and Customers with quality used vehicle options.  This role has loads of variety and will see you leading the Toyota New Zealand Trading Team, working closely with Toyota Stores, Toyota New Zealand Management, and our Japan based partners and suppliers to develop used vehicle strategies that strengthen sales and the One Toyota Value Chain.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring departmental profit and sales volume budgets are achieved.
  • Monitoring Store sales of Used Vehicle Product and ensuring they have the volume and mix of vehicles to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual retail targets
  • Monitoring the demand for Franchise Product ensuring Toyota Certified and direct sales targets are met. 
  • Preparation of daily bids for Japan auctions 
  • Tracking daily purchasing rates to ensure weekly, monthly, and annual sourcing targets are achieved

About You:

As our Associate Manager – Used Vehicle; Sales and Sourcing you will be a people-focused professional who thrives on building strong relationships, mentoring and growing people, and communicating with others at all levels. You bring self-awareness, integrity, and a genuine drive to make things better every day and you’re the kind of person who sets goals and gets results. You embrace change and are always on the lookout for smarter, more efficient ways to work! Your excellent communication skills can turn complex ideas into clear messages and you are confident in sharing insights and solutions with your team. 

You will also ideally have:

  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Sales Experience 
  • Motor industry or related (preferred but not essential)
  • Japanese business or cultural experience (preferred but not essential)
  • A current passport as some overseas travel is required for this role
