The role

Reporting to the Manager – Business Planning & Pricing this is a great opportunity to hone your management skills in an iconic company that is committed to helping you grow and succeed! 

As Associate Manager – Business Planning your primary responsibility is working with Toyota New Zealand (TNZ) departments to manage their budget and profit outlook. This role is also responsible for all vehicle pricing negotiations and proposals to both Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) and internal stakeholders. With wide understanding of business operations, this role requires analysis and preparation of key reporting in relation to the role and to support executive presentations.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of pricing negotiations with TMC
  • Developing model specific price proposal strategies 
  • Supporting corporate financial planning and analysis oversight of budgets and forecasts for both operational and capital expenditure
  • Providing sound financial support and insights to support senior leadership to make critical business decisions
  • Leading TNZ’s budget/profit management through the Mid-Term Business Plan and budget setting process 
  • Oversight and management of TNZ’s retail and direct pricing structure
  • Oversight   and analysis of retail campaign model data to identify key price impacts and devise strategies to support pricing objectives 

About You:

As our Associate Manager – Business Planning you will be a dynamic professional with strong problem-solving abilities, strategic thinking, and sharp analytical skills to support key business decisions!  Interpreting complex data, translating insights into clear recommendations, and influencing outcomes across the organization will come naturally to you and your excellent communication skills will see you confident in presenting findings and proposals to the senior leadership team, ensuring they have the information needed to drive impactful, forward-looking decisions.

You will also ideally have:

  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Experience in corporate planning and finance
  • Motor industry or corporate experience 
  • Japanese  language skills (business-level) highly desirable 
  • A  tertiary qualification (ideally in finance, economics or accounting)
