Otago Polytechnic’s School of Architecture invites applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, a senior academic role for a visionary educator, researcher, and practitioner committed to design excellence, ecological responsibility, and culturally inclusive practice.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and teach architectural design studios at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Teach Architecture History and Theory, integrating contemporary and global perspectives.
  • Supervise postgraduate research and contribute to a growing research culture.
  • Provide academic leadership and mentorship within the School.
  • Collaborate across disciplines including art, design, engineering, and digital technologies.
  • Engage with communities of practice, industry, and cultural partners.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A  strong academic, professional, or design-research profile in architecture.
  • A  commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive education.
  • Leadership experience in teaching, research, or professional practice.
  • A  clear research trajectory aligned with contemporary architectural challenges such as climate change, digital transformation, and social equity.

To be appointed as a Senior Lecturer, you will need to hold a satisfactory adult tertiary teaching qualification.
