About the role

We have a permanent opportunity for a Compliance and Risk Analyst to join our Compliance and Risk team based at our Wellington office. 

Compliance has a key role in the company monitoring the business against NZX Rules, legislation and providing internal controls to mitigate risk. Compliance also focuses on education and building employee awareness of industry requirements and regulations.

Compliance & Risk perform the critical function within Craigs Investment Partners of ensuring the company adheres to its regulatory and legislative obligations, while implementing the firm’s risk management framework. Building employee awareness throughout CIP to foster a continually strengthening Compliance and Risk culture is pertinent to Craigs’ values and drives best client outcomes. 

Reporting to the Head of Risk, the role of the Compliance and Risk Analyst is to contribute to the Compliance and Risk team performing the technical monitoring activates of trade surveillance and anti-money laundering (AML), as well the continuous improvement of the risk management framework, including the development of CIP’s risk universe, key risk indicators and risk profile methodology. In addition, the Analyst will support monitoring and reporting on business activities to ensure legislative and policy compliance undertaking analysis, reporting and recommendations within the established frameworks. 

Skills and Experience

Ideal candidates will have a relevant tertiary qualification in either finance or a business-related discipline, with at least three years’ experience in financial services ideally in a compliance, regulation, audit or risk position.

Understanding the duties and requirements of the Financial Markets Conduct Act, the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Services, Privacy Act, and AML/CFT Act, and the New Zealand and international financial services regulations is required.

The successful candidate will have excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines. Having a positive attitude, an eye for detail and being an excellent communicator are a must.
