Crown Law’s purpose is to serve New Zealand by supporting the Government to operate lawfully. Crown Law’s functions are:
Crown Law provides legal advice and representation services to the Government in matters affecting the executive government. The services Crown Law provides include matters covering judicial review of government actions, constitutional questions including Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi issues, the enforcement of criminal law, and the protection of revenue. Crown Law also administers the prosecution process in the criminal justice system, in particular, Crown prosecutions.
About the Role | Mō te Tūranga
We’re a small team in a small organisation with a busy work programme. We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to help us support the Attorney General’s Office and respond to information requests.
Ideally, you will have:
· strong working knowledge of government structures and obligations, ideally through approximately two-four years work experience in the public sector
· strong organisational skills to be able to work under the pressure of multiple demands, supporting other teams to provide input, and use organisational templates and processes
· strong communication and interpersonal skills, and be comfortable working with people at all levels of the organisation
· experience in coordinating, drafting and managing official information and other requests for information
· an understanding of the machinery of government, including the Official Information Act and Privacy Act
Wellington | Te Whanganui-a-Tara
This role is Wellington based and located in Aitken Street/Kate Sheppard Place, near the Wellington bus and train station.

· A starting salary range of between $82,264 and $101,570 with further room to progress. The appointing salary will be based on skills and experience.
