We are now seeking an organised, efficient and enthusiastic Admissions Coordinator to join the team at our community hub in New Lynn. This full-time permanent position operates Monday to Friday and plays an important role in supporting the Assessment and Admissions team to deliver a high-quality, responsive and welcoming service to all stakeholders. The role provides coordination and administrative support across the service, including triage cover and ensuring the smooth organisation of appointments and admissions.

In this role you can be a part of creating a positive first experience for tāngata whai ora and rangatahi (adults/young people seeking wellness) and their whānau (family) as they connect with Odyssey’s services. You’ll provide timely, compassionate support throughout the Assessment and Admissions process, helping appointments and admissions run smoothly and ensuring people and their whānau feel supported as they access the care and services they need.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Ideally a minimum Level 4 Certificate in Health or related field (preferred) 
  • At least 1 years’ relevant administration experience in a client-facing role in a social services, health, mental health or addictions care setting 
  • A willingness to embrace the Therapeutic Community (TC) model 
  • Excellent communication skills and empathy for people experiencing mental health and addiction challenges 
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance to this role 
  • The ability to evaluate information thoroughly, with high attention to detail 
  • Proven expertise in using Microsoft Suite applications 
  • Ability to manage your time and work under pressure to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team 
  • A full NZ Drivers Licence 
  • Knowledge of basic te reo Māori is desirable
