We are seeking an organised, proactive, and relationship‑focused Administrator to support the effective delivery of research services across Toi Ohomai. In this role, you will provide high‑quality administrative and project support to strengthen research capability, ensure accurate record keeping, and help enable meaningful research activity across our region. As a key member of our Research Office, you will contribute to a connected, responsive, and culturally capable team environment.
In this role, you will provide high‑quality administrative support to the Research Office team, ensuring smooth and effective delivery of research services across Toi Ohomai. You will maintain robust research project management and reporting systems, monitor project budgets, milestones, and documentation, and act as a responsive and knowledgeable first point of contact for all research‑related enquiries. Alongside this, you will coordinate a wide range of research activities and events—including meetings, workshops, seminars, symposia, and ethics committee sessions—ensuring they are well‑planned, well‑communicated, and professionally delivered.
Ngā mahi | Key Responsibilities
• Deliver efficient, accurate administrative support that enables research outcomes across Toi Ohomai
• Develop and maintain project management systems to support high‑quality research
• Track project budgets and milestones and prepare required reporting
• Support the preparation and maintenance of research documentation, correspondence, and records
• Plan and coordinate research‑related events, including ethics committee meetings
• Ensure administrative systems align with institutional requirements and research standards
He kōrero mōu | About You
You bring:
• A tertiary qualification in Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3 years’ experience in a research office or tertiary environment
• Experience in project management and report writing
• Strong organisational, communication, and relationship‑building skills
• Ability to uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations and support Māori success
• Confidence engaging with diverse stakeholders and supporting culturally responsive practice
