About Us 

Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga is a whānau-focused, Iwi mandated, kaupapa Māori health and social services organisation. We have been supporting our whānau me hapori to achieve their aspirations and general wellbeing for more than 40 years.  Underpinning our success as an organisation are our values Kotahitanga, Whakamana, Kaitiakitanga and Whanaungataunga, which are woven through everything we do. 

The Role

We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team, committed to empowering tāne with the skills and knowledge necessary for transformative change. In this role, you will:

  • Facilitate a 4 week brief intervention group programme 
  • Complete alcohol and drug assessments to identify individual needs and strengths
  • Prepare and implement treatment plans 
  • Provide individual counselling to tāne
  • Participate in weekly sit-ins with Hastings Probation, building strong relationships with probation staff and offering insight into the wider services that TToH provides for whānau.
  • Contribute to the collective mahi of our tight-knit Te Puna Rangatira team, supporting colleagues and, at times, assisting across other streams of work to ensure holistic care.

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Psychology, Addictions, Social Work, Nursing, Teaching etc).
  • Experience delivering interventions for Addiction
  • Proficient in report writing and case management
  • Experience working with whānau
  • Full driver’s license
  • Registration with DAPAANZ, NZAC or other professional body i.e. Social Work
