Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital is the only private surgical in-patient hospital on the Auckland’s North Shore. North Harbour Hospital has 8 Operating Rooms, a 14 bed Post Anaesthetic Care Unit, a modern well-equipped day stay facility unit and a 70-bed ward which includes a 4-bed intermediate care facility (ICF). 

Surgical specialities include General Surgery, Gynaecology, Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Urology, Orthopaedic surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive surgery, Urology, Otolaryngology and Robotic Surgery. In addition to the hospital, the broader North Shore campus is also home to a purpose-built endoscopy suite, on-site cardiology services, cancer care, pharmacy, sports medicine, radiology and more.

Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Accounts Payable professional to join our administration team at Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital. This role plays a vital part in supporting both clinical and operational services by ensuring invoices, refunds, and financial processes are managed accurately, efficiently, and on time.

You’ll take ownership of end-to-end accounts payable with the ability to support accounts receivable and general administration functions. Working closely with Purchasing, Pharmacy, Facilities, and the wider administration team, you’ll help ensure the hospital runs smoothly behind the scenes — contributing to a seamless experience for patients, staff, visiting practitioners, and suppliers.

This is a busy, hands-on role in a fast-paced hospital environment, where priorities can shift and attention to detail is critical. You’ll be joining our friendly and collaborative team that values accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement. 

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at our Southern Cross North Harbour Hospital. 

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable, ideally managing high-volume invoice processing
  • Strong numerical accuracy and exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to reconcile invoices and supplier statements and meet payment deadlines
  • Confidence liaising with internal stakeholders to obtain invoice approvals and resolve discrepancies
  • Experience supporting accounts receivable functions, including refunds, receipting, and debtor follow-up
  • Well-developed organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative team mindset 
  • Reliable, consistent, and comfortable working in a hospital environment
  • Experience working with financial systems - TechOne experience is desirable
