Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

We are seeking a permanent, full‑time, experienced and detail‑oriented Accounts Administrator to support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions within our Finance team. This role plays a vital part in ensuring accurate financial processing, effective debt management, and the delivery of high‑quality customer service across EIT.

Working closely with the Finance Team, managers, support staff, students, suppliers, and external vendors, the Accounts Administrator contributes to smooth financial operations and accurate reporting, including transaction processing and fixed asset administration.

The appointing salary for this role will be dependent on skills and experience.

The Accounts Administrator is based in Finance at the Hawke’s Bay Campus, reporting to the Finance Manager, and will be responsible for:

  • Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and on time
  • Managing bank transactions, reconciliations, and cash/EFTPOS receipting
  • Maintaining customer and supplier accounts, including debt monitoring and collections
  • Supporting fixed asset processing and annual stocktakes
  • Providing high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Strong knowledge of accounting systems, financial procedures, and reconciliations
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, even under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team
