About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to take ownership of our finance function. This is a standalone role reporting to the Directors. You’ll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting compliance, and partnering with our external accountants to ensure smooth month-end processes.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing month-end journals and maintaining the general ledger
- Bank reconciliation and transaction processing in MYOB
- Preparing budgets and forecasts, including maintaining short-term cashflow forecasts.
- Manage supplier invoices, payments and queries
- Preparing and filing GST returns
- Managing and processing payroll for up to 10 employees.
What We’re Looking For:
- Diploma or degree in Accounting/Commerce (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years’ experience in accounting or similar finance role
- Strong understanding of Accounts Payable, reconciliations and GST compliance
- Experience using accounting systems (e.g. MYOB).
- High attention to detail, excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
- Experience in property or land development would be beneficial, but is not essential
