The Role

This is a permanent full-time role reporting to the Sales Manager.  You will be working in partnership with your customers to grow their business and ours by increasing sales volume and ranging, ensuring sales are well executed.

You'll need to be an effective communicator and ideally have a background in account management - but more importantly you are a people person with great communication skills with a passion for building strong relationships.  This, along with your competitive edge and drive to meet targets, will ensure success in this role. Most importantly, you'll think strategically in your selling approach and understand your customers' needs - your forward-thinking approach will drive exceptional results for Bidfood Hawkes Bay and for your customers alike.

It's a busy role, and we'll expect you to fit a lot in to your day - so, you'll need to be well planned and efficient in your approach to your work, and be flexible and adaptable to the various demands of the role.  Finally, you'll have the ability to work autonomously, but will also be committed to supporting your wider team, going above and beyond to contribute effectively to team success. 


What You'll Do:

  • Cook Up Sales Success: Achieve and surpass KPIs by managing and growing a portfolio of existing customer accounts. Your strategic thinking and creativity will be the secret ingredients for our growth!
  • Serve with a Smile: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring they always enjoy top-notch customer service. 
  • Taste the Competition: Conduct market analysis and stay ahead of industry trends to keep our offerings fresh and appealing.
  • Inspire: Develop new business opportunities through upselling, cross-selling, and prospecting, ensuring you represent our brand with pride.


What You Bring: A zest for food that’s contagious!

  • Proven experience in sales management, preferably in the food industry.  (Minimum 3 years)
  • A data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse KPIs and turn them into actionable strategies.
  • Stellar communication skills and a customer-centric attitude.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change—just like the culinary world!
