Our Centre for Health and Social Practice delivers health professional programs in nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, counselling, social work and primary health care. About the role

We are looking for two midwifery lecturers to join our dynamic Kirikiriroa based teaching team for Te Kuratini o Waikato Bachelor of Midwifery programme. We have a commitment to excellence in our teaching and support of midwifery ākonga. We are interested in hearing from people with a strong desire to support work towards equitable outcomes for Māori and mana-enhancing Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnerships.

This is your opportunity to positively impact on the midwifery journey for ākonga and help to grow our future workforce. You will work with ākonga to support their learning by providing teaching within the degree programme and facilitating student problem solving, reflection on practice and skills development.  

To be eligible for consideration, you will: 

· Be a Registered Midwife within Aotearoa, with at least five years’ experience who is passionate about midwifery education 

· Have a strong understanding of Mātauranga Māori 

· Have knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga Māori 

· Be committed to working in a Te Tiriti honouring programme

· Confident with clinical, face to face and the online teaching environment

· A passion for supporting students to succeed

· Relevant teaching experience, professional development for an Adult Tertiary Teaching certificate can be provided

· Hold a Masters’ degree or be currently engaged in ongoing or committed to start post graduate education

· Research active, or willing to participate in research projects
