Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the Role
We have one fixed-term opportunity for an Academic Staff Member to deliver English language courses at Qingdao Technical College (QTC) in China. This eight-week contract sits within the ongoing partnership between Toi Ohomai and QTC. The role focuses on delivering high-quality English teaching to support QTC learners and strengthen the relationship between our institutions.
The position involves classroom teaching, supporting QTC students with their learning needs, developing and updating teaching materials, assessing student work, and contributing to a positive learning environment. You will represent Toi Ohomai while working alongside QTC staff to ensure a smooth and professional delivery of the programme.
This role offers a valuable opportunity to teach in an international environment while contributing to an established partnership between our institutions.
Ngā mahi | Key Responsibilities
• Delivering English language courses to QTC students
• Preparing and updating lesson plans, assessments and learning resources
• Using a learner-centred approach to support a diverse group of students
• Monitoring student progress and providing appropriate support and feedback
• Contributing to effective communication and collaboration with QTC staff
• Supporting the partnership through professional conduct and cultural awareness

• A teaching qualification or adult education preferred
• Experience teaching English or supporting English language learners
