We have one full time permanent position available for an Academic Staff Member within the Tourism and Hospitality team in the Academic Delivery and Development Directorate. The role involves teaching on the Bachelor of Applied Hospitality and Tourism Management. Within this role you will contribute to developing future industry leaders through teaching in the classroom and online; researching; creating, reviewing, and updating resources and teaching materials; assessing ākonga (student) work; assisting with the recruitment and care of ākonga (student); and actively participating in the team and institution environment.
Ngā mahi | Key Responsibilities
• Delivery of the Bachelor of Applied Hospitality and Tourism Management
• Providing leadership in ākonga (student) management
• Develop and deliver effective partnerships with key stakeholders
• Use a learner-centred approach to facilitate the learning of diverse ākonga (student)
• Developing, planning and implementing ākonga (student) assessment, courses and resource material
• Monitoring ākonga (student) progress and results and providing timely and accurate advice and support as required
• Actively engaging in research

You bring:
• A Masters qualification in a related field (or a willingness to work towards one)
• Five years’ experience in the Tourism/Hospitality industry
• Skills and/or qualifications in adult teaching (highly advantageous)
