Wintec is one of NZ’s largest Institutes of Technology providing quality education and training in the Waikato. Our Centre for Health and Social Practice delivers health professional programs in nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, counselling, social work and primary health care. About the role

You’ll be part of the future-focused and dynamic midwifery team in our Rotorua hub for Te Kuratini o Waikato Bachelor of Midwifery programme. We have a commitment to excellence in our teaching and support of midwifery ākonga. You will be an experienced midwife with skills and knowledge to undertake clinical and classroom teaching. 

You will value working collaboratively in a team as well as being able to work independently. 

Your experience, professional networks within Rotorua and formal qualifications will be key to the smooth running and efficient coordination of the Rotorua hub.

This is your opportunity to positively impact on the midwifery journey for Rotorua ākonga and help to grow our future workforce. You will work with ākonga to support their learning by providing teaching within the degree programme and facilitating ākonga problem solving, reflection on practice and skills development.  

Are you an ideal candidate?

If you’re a Registered Midwife with at least five years’ experience, you could be the perfect candidate to work with Wintec midwifery ākonga and teaching colleagues. You’ll need to be:

  • Able to utilise your midwifery knowledge and skills to facilitate      learning amongst midwifery ākonga 
  • Confident with clinical, face to face and online teaching methods
  • Confident with digital technology using email, word, excel 
  • Experience with preceptorship (advantageous) / and or working      towards Postgraduate studies

· Be committed to working in a Te Tiriti honouring programme

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to      work in a team.
  • Engaged in ongoing education
  • Research active, or willing to participate in research projects

Permanent 0.6 FTE part-time role working three days a week which will include Thursday and Friday alongside one other day that works for you.
