Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
Are you passionate about both animal care and supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals? Join Wintec’s Animal Technology team as an academic staff member, where you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality and engaging teaching to our students. We offer programmes in animal care, rural animal health and veterinary nursing. This role will see you working collaboratively with colleagues to provide core theory and practical skills to our students. This position is a full-time permanent role. The appointing salary for this role will be between $77,500 to $83,000, dependent on skills and experience. This role is based at our Rotokauri Campus, reporting to the Team Manager - Animal Technology and will be responsible for:
- Providing engaging and high-quality lessons to students.
- Developing resources and assessments.
- Marking assessments and moderation.
- Working closely with colleagues who teach on the same programme(s) and across the full suite of programmes.
- Liaising with colleagues in the industry to support work experience opportunities and encourage students’ innovation and creative thinking.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum qualification of a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (or similar).
- Confidence in your own clinical skills (large and/or companion animal) and ability to teach and mentor students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for supporting and guiding learners.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
