  Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

Wintec invites dynamic and experienced registered nurses (RN) to join our Te Kura o te Oranga (Centre for Health & Social Practice) team in the heart of Waikato. As a leading institution committed to delivering quality education, we are excited to be able to offer a 0.5 position within our nursing education team. The position is suitable for a RN that has a passion for science and is looking to enter the education sector. In your role you will:

  • facilitate engaging and interactive learning experiences for nursing students.
  • instruct and mentor students in theoretical knowledge with a particular focus on the science that underpins nursing practice.
  • contribute to curriculum development and enhancement.
  • foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • stay current with industry trends and best practices.

The appointing salary for this 0.5 FTE role will be between $87,200 - $96,800 dependent on skills and experience.

He kōrero mōu | About you

We are looking for people that: 

  • have an in depth understanding of the science that underpins nursing practice.
  • have a current annual practicing certificate.
  • belong to a relevant professional body.
  • have five or more years of experience in the nursing profession in New Zealand.
  • have an understanding of Te Ao Māori.  
  • possess a valid permit to live and work in New Zealand.

We are looking for someone with broad understanding of the biological, physical, and health sciences that underpin nursing practice. This can include, but is not limited to an understanding of  anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, biochemistry and pharmacology. Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies is a plus. For more information, please view the Position Description below.
