A relevant trade qualification or higher in General Mechanical Engineering, with expertise in areas such as fabrication, machining, fitting, and welding.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $74,400. and $85,000 dependent on skills and experience. The Academic Staff Member is based in our Rotokauri Campus | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Team Manager and will be responsible for:
Curriculum Assistance:
- Collaborate with faculty to align tutoring sessions with course objectives.
- Develop supplementary materials such as practice problems and study guides.
- Review and reinforce lecture materials to enhance student comprehension.
Student Engagement:
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Identify and address individual student learning needs and challenges.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their academic performance.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions and student progress.
- Participate in meetings with faculty and academic support teams.
- Stay updated on industry advancements and changes in mechanical engineering education.

Required:· Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and applications.· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.· Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible manner.· Organizational skills to manage tutoring sessions and track student progress.
Preferred:· Prior experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring.· Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MATLAB).
