Napier Port is the gateway for goods flowing in and out of Central New Zealand and is at the heart of the Hawke’s Bay economy. 

Successful Ancillary Operators will need to be flexible to work a range of shifts in a 24/7 operation and have the resilience to cope with shift work which can vary between day, afternoon and midnight shifts. 

Ancillary Operators are responsible for undertaking a range of driving and operational related functions including: 

  • Truck and water cart driving – both on and off port.
  • Refrigerated container plugging and unplugging.
  • Rail operations.
  • Port Pack operations. 
  • If seasonal demand requires, the operation of Heavy Plant.

What do I need?

  1. A great attitude
  2. A full Class 5 drivers’ licence 
  3. A forklift endorsement & OSH certificate

  1. A full-time, permanent job, working 8-hour shifts with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week. It’s really important to us that you have time for friends and whanau.
  2. An attractive starting rate of around $40 per hour.

What do I need to know?

Napier Port is a 24/7 business. That means shift work, working weekends and public holidays is part of the deal.
