We’re creating a new AI Lead role in Invercargill to help drive our AI journey. This is a chance to shape how AI transforms the way we work — cutting through the hype, spotting practical opportunities, and helping our people adopt tools and habits that make work simpler, faster and better.
You will:
· Find the high-impact AI wins that improve productivity, quality, customer experience and the way work gets done.
· Drive process improvement by helping teams embed useful AI tools.
· Build AI confidence through coaching, training and real-world examples that help people move from interest to action.
· Support responsible AI use, including privacy, security, confidentiality, human oversight and good governance.
· Drive real productivity gains — tracking what works, and identifying the next big opportunities.
About you
You’re someone who:
· Has experience leading or supporting AI transformation, digital innovation or technology-enabled change in a business environment.
· Knows how to spot practical AI opportunities and turn them into process improvements, productivity gains and/or better ways of working.
· Can translate AI and tech concepts into plain English, helping people understand what is possible and how to get started.
· Is commercially sharp, curious and confident challenging the way things have always been done.
· Can influence well, build trust quickly and bring people on the journey.
· Balances bold thinking with safe, responsible guardrails around privacy, security and risk.
· Takes pride in doing things well, shows up for the team, and isn’t afraid to take initiative and crack on.
Manufacturing, operations or product-based business experience would be a bonus.
