About the Role
If you're passionate about making a difference in young children's lives and are currently enrolled, or planning to enrol in a Level 7 ECE Bachelor's programme in 2027, we'd love to hear from you.
This permanent position offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, giving you the opportunity to learn, grow and build your teaching practice within a supportive team environment.
BestStart Faringdon is a purpose-built centre with four thoughtfully designed learning spaces catering to each stage of a child's development. In this role, you'll primarily work alongside our energetic 2-3 year olds in the Pīwakawaka Room, where children are encouraged to explore, create, discover and develop their independence through play-based learning.
You'll also have opportunities to support our youngest learners, helping you gain valuable experience across different age groups as you progress through your studies and teaching journey.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is eager to learn, motivated to grow and committed to providing high-quality education and care. You'll bring:
- Enrolment in, or intentions to enrol in, a Level 7 ECE Bachelor's programme
- An understanding of child-led learning and play-based education
- Knowledge of Te Whāriki and current ECE regulations
- A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice
- A genuine passion for teaching, learning and making a positive difference for tamariki
