About us

We're Catalyst, the technology partner behind some of New Zealand's most critical digital infrastructure. The innovative solutions and award-winning, globally distributed software we champion is all built on open source foundations that are proven, sovereign, and endlessly configurable.

For nearly 30 years, organisations have partnered with us to build genuine digital independence. No vendor lock-in, just the freedom to build the right thing, at the right pace, on their own terms.

Backed by open source. Proven code, worldwide community, endless possibilities.

Backed by us. We know what works, and how to make it work for others.

Backed by Catalyst Cloud. Sovereign infrastructure keeping data and control right here in Aotearoa.

We're guided by our four values of openness, freedom, collaboration, and respect; are committed to being good Te Tiriti partners and are proudly Toitū Net Carbon Zero Certified.

A career here means work that matters, with people who care. If that sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

You'll be the face of our Auckland office — greeting clients and visitors, answering calls, coordinating meetings and events, and keeping the day-to-day running smoothly. You'll also support our client relationships directly, from managing bookings to writing emails, and pitch in wherever the team needs a hand.

What you'll be doing:

  • Greeting and directing clients, visitors and the public
  • Arranging travel and accommodation bookings
  • Managing mail and courier deliveries
  • Keeping kitchen and meeting supplies stocked
  • Organising catering, meetings and workshops, including room bookings
  • Maintaining office equipment and liaising with suppliers for repairs
  • Planning and running events for clients and staff
  • Supporting sales and marketing with admin tasks
  • Liaising with other Catalyst offices and the building manager
  • Producing documents and supporting the wider team as needed

About you

  • Initiative. You spot what needs doing and get on with it, without waiting to be told.
  • Great communication. Clear, confident and friendly, whether it's on the phone, in person or in writing.
  • Organisation. Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle a varied workload.
  • A calm head. You stay steady under pressure and adapt when things change.
  • A people-first attitude. You build rapport easily and put people at ease.
  • An interest in technology is a bonus, but not essential.

We also value a genuine commitment to te ao Māori values and Catalyst's support for Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
