Nightshift Team Leader (2IC) – Bidfood Waipapa
You're already the person people look to when things need to get done. Now it's time to make it official.
Bidfood Waipapa is looking for a Nightshift Team Leader (2IC) to work alongside our Nightshift Manager and help lead our warehouse team through the night.
This isn't a job where you'll sit in an office telling people what to do. You'll be on the floor, working with the team, solving problems, keeping things moving and making sure the job gets done right.
And when the Nightshift Manager isn't there? You'll be the one stepping up.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Help run the nightshift and keep the warehouse moving
- Lead by example – get stuck in and work alongside the team
- Make sure orders are picked accurately, packed correctly and loaded on time
- Help organise people and workload throughout the shift
- Support, coach and train team members
- Help onboard new team members and set them up for success
- Spot problems, fix what you can and escalate what you can't
- Help keep productivity, accuracy and service levels high
- Support the Nightshift Manager with admin and daily operations
- Step up and take charge when the Manager is away
- Keep the team focused on safety, quality and getting the job done
THIS ROLE IS FOR YOU IF...
You're not necessarily a manager yet – but you're ready to become one.
You might already be a senior picker, leading hand, warehouse operator or someone who naturally takes responsibility when things get busy.
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do
- Can motivate people and bring others with them
- Is reliable – when you're on, you're all in
- Communicates clearly and isn't afraid to have the hard conversations
- Stays calm when things get busy
- Notices when something isn't working and looks for a better way
- Takes pride in getting the details right
- Has warehouse, logistics or distribution experience
- Has forklift experience or is keen to develop their skills
- Is confident using computers and warehouse systems
- Wants to build a career in leadership
