Catalyst Cloud are providing the cloud for Aotearoa. Our mission is to enable the growth of New Zealand's digital economy with state of the art cloud services delivered onshore.
We are on the lookout for an experienced python developer to join our Wellington based team, supporting us with maintaining and running New Zealand’s first public cloud.
We’re looking for someone with a passion for open source, who can think innovatively and creatively and is ready to accept the challenge to work on different cloud layers. A lot of our work is upstream development on OpenStack, and involves working with a diverse community of developers all around the world. You will be helping us make OpenStack better, and expanding the tools and services for our own internal systems.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with not only an exciting range of our clients but with upstream worldwide developers in order to successfully manage new and existing systems. You’ll be doing it all while supported by a team of colleagues who encourage growth and continued learning.
In this role you will be working primarily with Python and Golang, so you should be both completely comfortable and really enjoy working these. While this role is mostly development focused, experience in DevOps & containerisation will greatly complement your work and open future opportunities for you.
A strong generalist knowledge of a range of skills will support you well in this position, so whether you’ve worked with Kubernetes or have experience with open source projects related to laaS, please note them down, we want to hear about it.
Being a good employer is really important to us. We make sure everyone has the support they need to develop their skills and further their career. We also offer subsidised health insurance, flexible working hours, plenty of training opportunities (including you being the trainer if that is something you would enjoy), and a vibrant, diverse range of colleagues.
