Catalyst IT is part of a global team of skilled open source technologists. We specialise in developing, designing and supporting enterprise grade systems using open source technologies.

We are looking for someone to join the team that specialise in the design, development and hosting of mission critical platforms including LMS and ePortfolio systems.

We support over 100 high-value sites, your role will be to assist us to further our automation of that work: building of sites, testing, security updates and feature upgrades as we approach a refresh of our support infrastructure. You will have a good understanding of using the Linux command line, a good knowledge of open source application stacks and IP networking, strong scripting ability in your chosen language and good knowledge of IT security practices.

You’ll need to be comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders, primarily other teams within our company, but also occasionally clients, so top notch communication skills are key. Occasional out of hours work may be required (once every few months).

We’d like to hear from you if you have experience with or interest in the following:

  • Continuous integration and continuous deployment
     
  • Cloud provisioning
     
  • Automated testing
     
  • Solid systems performance debug/investigation skills
     
  • Previous experience deploying Moodle/Totara LMS
     
  • Python, Ansible, Puppet, Docker/Kubernetes, Git, Nginx, HAProxy, Postgres, Redis, GitLab CI/GoCD, Bash
