Catalyst IT is part of a global team of skilled open source technologists. We specialise in developing, designing and supporting enterprise grade systems using open source technologies.
Our global team includes three branches in New Zealand and the Catalyst Group also includes companies in Australia, Canada, Ireland and the UK. Our legal team is looking for a Solicitor to join us in supporting all areas of the Catalyst Group.
The legal team balances transactional work that supports our software development and support business, with corporate functions including corporate governance, data governance, and business risk. You’ll be involved in providing legal advice to internal decision-makers on many topics ranging from software development contracts, to commercial property leases, and software licensing (in particular open source licenses). Mentoring will be provided in the industry-specific issues involved.
The Solicitor is an ex-officio member of the risk committee along with directors of the company, and wears the hat of Deputy Privacy Officer when required. Experience in these areas or a keen interest to learn more would be a bonus for this position. You need to be eligible to hold a practising certificate.
We are open to filling this role on a 24-hour-per week or full-time basis, and always consider requests for flexibility, so whether you’re looking for full time or part time don’t hesitate to apply.
Being a good employer is really important to us. We make sure everyone has the support they need to develop their skills and further their career. We also offer subsidised health insurance, flexible working hours, plenty of training opportunities (including you being the trainer if that is something you would enjoy), and a vibrant, diverse range of colleagues.
